- Speaking of fine cuisine, who can possibly forget the delicious
dishes created by Chef Ouita Michel of Holly Hill Inn and Wallace
Station in Midway? Stella's
Kentucky Deli - Stella's is a cozy restaurant located in
historic downtown Lexington and is dedicated to supporting local
farmers. They just started offering dinner on Tuesdays through Friday
until 9:00 p.m. On Saturdays they have brunch from 10:00 a.m. to
2:00 p.m. Check them out! Good
Foods Market and Cafe - Good Foods is wonderful health
food store with a fantastic cafe that offers a hot steam buffet
of natural foods for lunch and dinner. Definitely worth a visit! LOUISVILLE Blind
Pig - With a recent review by the New York Times it's safe
to say it isn't just local foodies raving about this hog heaven.
Aptly located in the Butchertown neighborhood, Chef Joe Frase and
the rest of his pork purveyors attempt to give you a succulent taste
tour of Pan-European hog dishes in the hippest of settings. Even
the visually impaired porker could follow his nose right into the

in the Mid City Mall - ValuMarket in the Mid City Mall
on Bardstown Road is our favorite local grocery chain as they are
serious at promoting KY Proud Products. You'll find our beef and
pork located in the freezer section in the meat department. Mayan
Cafe - His name is Chef Herberto Rosendo Ucan Ake, but
you can just call him Bruce. Chef Ucan and his compadres at Mayan
Cafe have been a staple on Downtown's Market Street since opening
as the Mayan Gypsy in 1997. This is not Mexican food, this is Mayan
food! The true heart of the savory taste of the Yucatan peninsula
is freshness, and the Mayan Cafe has always been a proud supporter
of the farm to table movement. Whether it's chilaquiles, seviche,
or tortilla's made by hand, for Chef Ucan, it's always the best
local ingredients. Grasshoppers
- Grasshoppers Distribution delivers locally grown foods to discerning
chefs in the area. "But wait!" you say, "I'm not
a chef. How can I get locally grown food?" It's easy! Just
sign up for one of their CSA's and you too can be enjoying in all

Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese. Some of the nicest people you'll ever
meet making some of the best cheeses are Kenny and his family on
their family farm in Austin, KY. And plus they're dairy farmers,
like us, so of course we love em'! |
